Paper and packaging applications

Automation coordinates stock, web tension and finished packs.

Paper and packaging line spare parts support pulp preparation, paper-machine operation, web tension, cutting, printing and end-of-line packaging equipment.

ApplicationWhat the automation system doesTypical spare parts
Pulp preparation, furnish and dosingControls furnish ratio, flow, level and chemical-additive quantity.PLC/DCS, analog modules, flow meters and VFDs
Paper forming, pressing and dryingCoordinates section speed and adjusts steam pressure, temperature and related process conditions.Controllers, I/O modules, drives, temperature and pressure sensors
Paper quality monitoringMeasures basis weight, moisture and other quality indicators to provide process feedback.QCS measurement and control modules
Rewinding, unwinding and slittingControls roll speed, tension and cut length to reduce web breaks and uneven winding.Tension sensors, encoders, servo drives and motion-control modules
Printing and registrationCoordinates web transport and print position so artwork aligns correctly.Registration sensors, encoders, servo systems and controllers
Cartoning, case packing and sealingSequences feeding, folding, gluing, packing and closing operations.PLC, DI/DO modules, photoelectric sensors and servo drives
Conveying, sorting and palletizingCoordinates transport, counting, diverting and stacking of finished products.PLC, VFDs, sensors and robot-control components

Example 1: Stable web tension during rewinding

As roll diameter increases, an unmatched drive response can pull the web too hard or wind it too loosely. A tension sensor measures the process and the controller compares it with the target before the drive adjusts motor torque or speed.

Example 2: Cutting packaging material at the artwork mark

A registration sensor detects the mark, the controller calculates the error and a servo system corrects feed or knife position so the finished cut aligns with the printed design.

Procurement purpose: These spare parts replace failed controllers, I/O cards, drive boards, power supplies and communication modules, reducing line stops, web breaks and packaging waste.

Web-control example

Keep paper tension stable through every roll change.

As line speed or roll diameter changes, the control system adjusts drive speed and torque while feedback devices confirm position and tension. A replacement drive, encoder, motion module or remote I/O card must match the installed architecture and machine recipe.

Restore the machine function without losing the line setup.

Exact-model replacements support continuity, synchronized motion and repeatable packaging quality across legacy and current equipment.

01 · Motion

Drives & servo systems

VFDs, servo drives, motors, encoders and motion modules coordinate rollers, cutters, folders and packers.

02 · Process

PLC & remote I/O

Controllers, power supplies and distributed I/O collect sensors and execute machine sequences.

03 · Quality

Inspection & communication

Registration sensors, web guides, industrial networks, HMI and inspection interfaces support production decisions.
