Power generation substation and electrical grid equipment

Power Generation Automation Spare Parts

Control the unit.Protect the machine.

Industrial automation spare parts for gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and balance-of-plant systems—selected by exact model for maintenance, retrofit and outage work.

Turbine halls, control rooms and outage teams

Exact-model support for the right replacement part.

Why exact model matters

One failed card can delay synchronization, loading or full plant availability.

Power-generation equipment is connected across the fuel-to-grid path. A replacement must match the installed architecture, revision, signal type and approved operating logic.

From fuel to breaker

Where automation spare parts support a generating unit.

This page is written for plant engineers, EPC contractors and local traders sourcing equipment for operating power plants and planned outages.

Outage procurement guide

Give the supplier enough detail to protect the outage schedule.

For urgent generation-equipment requirements, the complete part number is more useful than a product family name alone.

1

Identify the unit

Gas turbine, steam turbine, generator, boiler, pump or balance-of-plant system.

2

Send the full order code

Include suffix, revision, rack position, firmware and connector or I/O details.

3

State the required timing

Tell us whether the part is for a planned outage, emergency repair or installed spare.

4

List documentation needs

Photos, nameplate data, test records, packing information, warranty and delivery destination.

Product families

Common power plant automation requirements.

Machinery protection

Bently Nevada 3500 & proximity systems

Monitors, probes, cables, Keyphasor, position and temperature hardware for turbine-generator trains.

Plant control

Emerson Ovation and DeltaV

DCS, turbine, balance-of-plant, operator interface and communication hardware for power generation control.

PLC & I/O

ABB, GE and legacy controllers

AC800M, S800 I/O, Mark VI/Vie and other control, protection and distributed-I/O families.

Maintenance evidence

What the data can reveal before a major failure.

Gas-turbine generator: rising bearing vibration

A rising vibration trend can indicate imbalance, alignment, oil-film or bearing problems. Comparing shaft and casing measurements helps maintenance teams separate process changes from developing mechanical faults.

Combined-cycle steam turbine: abnormal expansion

Differential expansion, axial position and temperature data can reveal a developing clearance or thermal-growth problem before the unit reaches a protection limit.

Decision support

Power plant questions, answered.

What should an engineer check before replacing a turbine monitoring card?

Confirm the complete model, monitor type, rack position, I/O companion module, hardware revision, firmware, channel configuration and approved trip logic before installation.

Can one RFQ include turbine, DCS, excitation and balance-of-plant items?

Yes. A single requirement may combine machinery monitoring, PLC, DCS, HMI, communication, power and electrical-control components from several manufacturers.

What information is most useful for an outage requirement?

Send the unit and system name, complete part number, quantity, preferred condition, required-on-site date, destination and clear nameplate or installed-part photos.

How are discontinued control parts handled?

We review the exact legacy model, revision and installed architecture, then confirm sourcing options. Any substitution or migration must be approved by the plant engineering team.

Can a single RFQ include turbine, DCS, excitation and balance-of-plant items?

Yes. Multi-brand outage lists are welcome and can be consolidated for commercial review, packing and shipment coordination.

How machinery monitoring works

Protect the turbine and generator with the right sensor chain.

Machinery protection depends on the complete measurement path. A sensor, cable or monitor that does not match the installed system can compromise both signal quality and protection logic.

01

Sense

Proximity probes, seismic sensors, Keyphasor sensors and temperature devices measure vibration, shaft position, speed and machine temperature.

02

Connect

Extension cables and field wiring carry the low-level sensor signal from the turbine to monitoring racks and junction points.

03

Monitor

Machinery-protection modules process the signal, compare it with configured limits and provide trends, alarms and status.

04

Protect

Relay outputs and plant interfaces initiate alarms, trips or permissives according to the approved protection philosophy.

Important: Sensor, extension cable and monitor compatibility must be checked as a complete chain. Verify the exact part number, probe type, cable length, connector, system family and installed configuration before ordering.
